YOUTH ROUNDUP
The Wingate and Finchley Youth teams were back in action after a two week break due to the cold snap, with three in Cup Semi-Finals. All the weather was good on Sunday though it was not a bright day for all the teams involved.
The headline success were the U18's who had an empathic win beating the Docklands U18 5-1 in their London Cup Semi-final to set up a final against either Our Ladys or Footscray Lions in May. Lewis Weeks scored his first goal for the club and David Smouha was also on the score sheet. After a 2-0 lead at the break, Docklands pulled a goal back straight after the restart to set up an exciting second half. The Wingate & Finchley team's hard work paid off and their quality shone through as three second-half goals sealed the tie.
Also in Semi-Final action were the U14's and U16's. With their usual home venue not available this week, the games were moved to Bushey and the teams did not fare as well both narrowly lost their semi-finals. The Under 14’s went down by the odd goal against Magix Youth while the U16 took Sandgate all the way to penalties only to lose 4-5.
The U13's had earlier started the day off well with a 3-2 away win against Buckhurst Hill in the EJA cup. A goal from Franco bought the teams in level at half time. With a second half penalty by Thomas and a third from Harry after being pegged back completed a 3-2 win for the team. There was better news for the U17’s. In league action against Romford they ran out 6-1 home winners. There was a hat-trick from centre half Sean Griffin and goals from Jamie Dickens, Sam Cook and Andreas Kyprianou completing the scoring.

DAVE NORMAN QUOTE
Manager Dave Norman was left very frustrated after Wingate & Finchley's 2-0 defeat at home to Kingstonian on Saturday.
Norman said "it was very frustrating for us as we played the first 35 minutes at a real tempo, we looked sharp and the players complemented each other. We gave away a silly penalty and their second goal took a wicked deflection.
Having said that we needed to show better killer instinct in front of goal, with four very good opportunities to take the lead before letting Kingstonian get into the game.
After this performance we will be confident going into Tuesday's Leatherhead game".

YOUTH NEWS
The U13's lost 2-0 to Bishops Stortford in the semi-final of the U13 Challenge cup. The team were unlucky and created chances but just could not beat the Bishop Stortford keeper.
The U14's went to Bowers & Pitsea and came away with a brilliant slender 1-0 win. However the U15's continued their torrid season with a 3-0 defeat at home to Potters Bar.
On the positive side the U16 Herts team continued their strong season making it 8 wins out of 8 in the league with a 6-1 home win over Buckhurst Hill. Just like the U13's, the U17 also played Bishops Stortford in the Challenge Cup and they came away victorious with a 1-0 win. They will play Thurrock in the final who also won their semi-final.
The U18's had two games in as many days the first was the rearranged AFA Cup semi-final against Gladstone. They ran out 6-1 winners to set up a final with Valley Park Rangers in March. Their game on Sunday saw them run out 4-0 winners away to Tokynton Manor to bring them three point off second place with a game in hand.
