| Wingate & Finchley scored two goals at the Abrahams Stadium in a
league match for the first time this season and looked like they had sealed victory but a last gasp lapse in concentration saw three points reduced to one but with performances like this the victories will come.
After barely two minutes JAMES ALLEN, who made his debut last season as a substitute against Barking and East Ham United setting up the goal that day but suffering an horrendous knee injury in the process, marked his fist start for the Club by helping Anthony Limbricks’ fierce drive through the hands of Andy Anstead in the Ware goal to give the Blues the advantage.
The lead lasted for 19 minutes until JASON COUGHLAN capitalised on a mistake at the back for Wingate to drive a low shot across Thompson and in off the post. There were few chances in the remainder of the first half, only an Allen shot well saved by Anstead and when Ed Thompson stood up well to deny Horsey after the attacker had held of Guy Morris.
Eight minutes into the second half a combination of John Frendo, who was at Hendon last season and Horsey released Paul Burton but he was denied by Thompson. Then on 58 minutes Craig Ellis set Dean Williams free and Williams saw his cross to the better placed Allen cannon off SAM ROSE and into the net to give the Blues the advantage which it looked as though they had held, however with seconds remaining a throw into the area found JASON COUGHLIN who levelled the game up giving Ware are making a habit of last gasp goals a point and denying the Blues the three points they narrowly deserved.
On Tuesday night The Blues welcome Barkingside to the Abrahams Stadium in the London Senior Cup a competition Wingate & Finchley have a good record in and they will be looking to maintain that on Tuesday.
