Blues crowned Velocity Trophy Champions

Blues back to winning ways with deserved victory over Potters Bar
By Aaron Toubian Gianluca Botti and Eddie Allsopp fired Wingate & Finchley to a first league victory in more than three months, as the Blues ran out 2-1 winners over neighbours Potters Bar Town, at Summers Lane. By Aaron Toubian Wingate & Finchley moved safely through to the last eight of the Isthmian League Velocity Cup, thanks to a 4-1 win over a youthful Cheshunt team. After a dominant start, Ahmet Rifat’s men eventually broke the deadlock, as Sam Cornish’s effort found its way in, with returning teenager Tommy Roberts providing the final touch.
