David Ackerman

It is with great sadness that the club confirms the passing of Life Vice President David Ackerman.

David was an integral part of the club for many years. His dedication and commitment played a significant role in ensuring our renowned playing surface continued to thrive, and he was a familiar and reassuring presence on matchdays. David gave so much of his time, care, and energy to the club, and his contribution will not be forgotten.

Our heartfelt condolences are extended to David’s family at this very difficult time. His presence, character, and personality will be deeply missed by everyone at the club.

Tribute from Peter Rebak, Life President:

I have known David for most of his 70 years. He was always a passionate lover of football, particularly at grassroots level. As a teenager, he was determined to become a referee, a role in which he excelled, going on to officiate as a senior non-league referee.

When his refereeing days came to an end, David devoted much of his life to volunteering and giving back to the game he loved. At both the Middlesex FA and Wingate & Finchley, he was a fiercely loyal and passionate supporter.

David was generous, dependable, and someone you always wanted on your side. His loss is deeply felt across football, and most of all by his family, whom he loved dearly.
