2025/26 Isthmian Premier allocations

Updated: 3 days ago

We now know the teams that will be in the Isthmian Premier League next season, with new opposition as follows.

Aveley are back after two seasons in the National League South, after being promoted from this level via the playoffs in 2022/23.

Joining Aveley in being relegated into the Isthmian Premier League from National League South are two sides who are less familiar with the Isthmian Premier League in recent years in Welling United and St Albans City. For Welling United, it was six consecutive seasons at step 2, and before that it was step 1 for the Bexley-based side, but a disappointing campaign last year saw them drop into step 3. As for St Albans City, their last spell in this league was over 20 years ago, more recently playing the majority of their football in National League South and a short spell at step 3 over 10 years ago saw them in the Southern League.

Promoted into the Isthmian Premier League, we have one team from the Isthmian North and two from Isthmian South East. From the North division, we will be facing Brentwood Town, who spent a solitary season in the Isthmian Premier League in 2015/16 in recent years, before returning to Isthmian North where they persistently challenged for a playoff promotion, eventually winning the title this year.

Another team that reached the Isthmian Premier League in 2015/16, but stayed until relegation in 2018/19, is Burgess Hill Town. They return to this level after playoff victory over Sittingbourne on penalties in the South East division.

Champions of the South East division were Ramsgate, the Kent side returning to this level for the first time in over 15 years. After playoff disappointment in 2023/24, a season in which the Rams' FA Cup exploits were shown on BBC as they reached the 2nd Round with a trip to Wimbledon, they went one better last year and took the crown, in a tough battle with Sittingbourne, where both teams got over 100 points.
