Club Statement

Following events that took place at the match between Enfield Town FC v Wingate & Finchley FC in The Ryman Premier League on Monday 25th August 2014, Wingate & Finchley FC makes the following statement :- There is, as always, speculation driven by supporters' forums and social media - this is not something that we want to enter in to. At half time Mr George Borg, the Manager of Enfield Town FC, was dismissed by the Match Officials. The referee's report shall be submitted to the FA and we expect action to be taken. Wingate and Finchley FC will co-operate fully with any investigation into these events, and our Chairman Aron Sharpe is confident that the FA will come to the correct and responsible conclusion and take the right course of disciplinary action. Furthermore, Enfield Town FC's Officials immediately apologised personally to our club and for this they must be applauded.
