Delete Blood Cancer visit on Saturday

Wingate & Finchley are delighted to announce that on Saturday, before the Burgess Hill Town league game, we shall be welcoming the charity Delete Blood Cancer. The UK Charity will be at the Harry Abrahams Stadium all day from 12.30pm with the aim of getting people signed up to their donor register, and to help create their brand new promotional video. The fun part - which will see DBC set up a full size target in the goalmouth at 1pm - gives each person two minutes to score as many points as possible by kicking footballs through holes of varying sizes from 12 yards. This is a competition lasting the whole season as DBC extend their promotion drive around the country. The reason each contestant has two minutes, is to symbolise that it only takes this short amount of time to sign up for the valuable blood donor register. The main aim of the day though it to have as many people as possible sign up - players, staff or supporters of both teams - just by giving a cheek swab! In DBCs words, "a two-minute cheek swab will enable you to go on standby to save a life."
