Enfield Town preview

Enfield Town play host to Wingate and Finchley on Tuesday night as the teams finally meet for their belated Ryman League Cup quarter final tie. The matchup, originally scheduled for the 5th December, has seen two postponements due to inclement weather. And the Blues will be chomping at the bit to get one over their local rivals, having lost at their hands in the league already just before the turn of the year. Keith Rowlands side are on a high after sampling their first taste of victory in 2016 with a weekend win over Burgess Hill. A brace from Billy Healey and goals from Rob Laney, Tommy Tejan-Sie and Alex Addai handed the Blues a phenomenal 5-1 win, ending a 9 game winless run that stretched back to mid-December. With Tuesdays game at Enfield acting as Wingates last shot at silverware, there comes no better time to finally hit a patch of form. Enfield, on the other hand, have suffered slightly more mixed fortunes in the league this year. Their six games since the start of January have seen them both win and lose three. Their 3-0 win against Leatherhead at the weekend came just days after a 1-0 loss at Wingates victim Burgess Hill. Though this sounds promising for the Blues, Enfields 2-1 win the last time these sides met on 29th December means it may not be as simple as they hope. Luckily, as a cup match between local rivals, form will almost certainly go out of the window. Preview by Andy Gerlis
