Leiston preview

After Enfield's pitch was unplayable, once again, Wingate & Finchley resume their season at Leiston FC, the Blues travelling just over two hours for this Ryman Premier League game. The Blues finally got back to winning ways last Saturday, thrashing Burgess Hill Town 5-1 at the Abrahams Stadium with goals from Billy Healey (2), Tommy Tejan-Sie, Rob Laney and Alex Addai. Manager, Keith Rowland will be looking for a similar performance from his players if the Blues are to leave Leiston with all three points. Leiston come into the game in 8th place, three positions above Wingate and with a five point difference between the sides. Contrastingly, Leiston, also known as the Blues, were met with a 4-1 humbling at Billericay Town last time out, Jordan Cox and Tom Derry sharing the spoils between them to send Leiston home without a point, despite Jack Ainsley's penalty. Richard Wilkins' side sit only one place above Wingate in the form guide, with two wins and four losses from their last six games compared to Wingate's one win, two draws and three defeats. The sides last met in mid-November, with Wingate running out 1-0 winners in N12 thanks to an excellent Alfie Bartram strike, and it could come down to another moment of magic to seal this fixture. When the sides met earlier in the season, both were vying for promotion spots, but this time will be looking to climb from mid-table back towards the top five. It promises to be a fascinating game between two sides that like to play the right way. Preview by Nikhil Saglani
