Marc Weatherstone News

Wingate & Finchley can announce that club captain Marc Weatherstone is leaving to join Ryman Premier League's Dulwich Hamlet. The fans' favourite has spent nine years at the Blues and has racked up 434 appearances in this time. Marc and the Chairman met recently and after a long conversation it was felt that the time was right for Marc to face a new challenge.

Chairman Aron Sharpe stated "Marc has been club captain and a great servant to our club. He has been offered a tremendous package that we could not get near. Although this was not the driver for him, we both agreed that the offer was simply too good to turn down, coupled with a new challenge for Marc at this stage of his career. He goes with the club's best wishes; Marc will forever be welcome here and we hope to see him regularly at the club."

The defender said "Wingate & Finchley is in my heart, and as I'm only 17 appearances behind Dan Nielsen I will be back! I've had the best 9 years of my life and I will miss everyone associated with the club. The fans are one of a kind and I appreciate all their support."
