Next up for the Blues are Brentford B, who we welcome to the Maurice Rebak Stadium for the first round of the London Senior Cup. With a potential tie against local rivals Hendon awaiting the winners on Tuesday evening, it looks set to be a fantastic tie against a top side.
Our Opponents
Brentford B are the development side of Premier League Brentford, and they largely feature youth players from the Brentford system. They exist to develop Brentford young players and have a good track record of promoting players into the Brentford first team.
They have fantastic pedigree, winning last season’s Premier League Cup, as well as winning the London Senior Cup in 21/22. They have also finished as runners up twice. Last season they were knocked out in the quarter finals by Hendon.
Last Time Out
We suffered a 2-0 defeat away from home at the hands of Hashtag United in what was a frustrating afternoon for the Blues. Despite the almost one-way traffic, before and after the hosts were reduced to 10 men, we just weren’t able to unlock the Hashtag defence.
Brentford B mainly play friendlies and in cup competitions, and as such their last game was a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Braga’s B side. Prior to that they were defeated 6-1 by Fulham in the Premier League Cup.
Head to Head
As you can imagine, there is not a rich history between the two sides. Nevertheless, both sides met in January 2020, where Brentford ran out 1-0 winners.
Players to watch
There will be plenty of Blues looking to impress over the course of the evening, and given that it’s been three games without a goal, the attackers picked by Ahmet will be looking to make an impact.
Brentford B have plenty of pedigree and there is no doubt that some of the players on show in Finchley will make it to the Brentford first team at some point. It’s hard to miss the name of Romeo Beckham in the visitors’ squad, and he will be looking to make an impact, having traded Inter Miami for the glamour of N12
The Match
Kickoff is at 7:45 on Tuesday, with tickets costing £12 (£8 for concessions), and are free for U18s. There will also be our usual range of hot food available, as well as a bar in the clubhouse .
We look forward to welcoming you back to the Maurice Rebak. Come on you Blues!
