New signing

Wingate & Finchley are pleased to announce the signing of 21 year old De'Reece Vanderhyde from Staines Town.

De'Reece is comfortable at either centre back or right back, and started at Watford when aged from 11 until 16.

He then did his scholarship at Leyton Orient playing with other current Wingate players including Reeces Beckles and Afaolabi Obafemi, and also played with previous players including Jack Read, Joe Foley, Sean Grace and Jack Metcalfe.

De'Reece went on to play for Welling Utd and Bishops Stortford in the Conference and has also appeared for Hayes and Yeading.

Club chairman Aron Sharpe said "I have been aware of De'Reece from before his academy days from Ryan FC where he played with Affy. I have long thought he would fit the profile of the club. I am surprised that we were able to get him and feel that he is another young player that will show everyone what he is capable of. He can play in multiple positions and will be a valuable add-on to the club and to our young squad."
