Wingate and Finchley are pleased to announce our second signing of the close season - David Knight. David is a player who we have been monitoring since he was outstanding for Billericay Town against us a couple of years ago. David, 23, can play anywhere across the midfield but his favoured position is that of striker, where last season he finished the second highest scorer in the Ryman North with Thurrock FC on 37 goals. Chairman Aron Sharpe stated "we are not in the habit of making multiple signings, however it was evident by our goals record last season that we needed to score more goals and the table does not lie. We have signed a young player that Dave, Danny and I all agree is top drawer and has a big future. The player has shown his commitment to our club by signing a contract and I am very very happy to have him at the club. I hope this shows our intention by the players coming in to the squad, however we are not reckless in our approach and new players will only be ones who fit in with our ethos - David is a great signing for us.''
