Reece Beckles-Richards Departs

Wingate & Finchley can announce the departure of forward, Reece Beckles-Richards who has joined Wealdstone FC for an undisclosed fee.

Reece joined the club in the summer of 2016, going on to feature over 150 times for the club. His most prolific campaign came in the 2016-17 season, where his goals were crucial to the club reaching the Isthmian League play-off semi final.

As a club, we pride ourselves on the development of local, young footballers - many of whom go on to pursue careers in league football, as well as both National League divisions. Despite the importance and loyalty of such individuals, our intention is always to see the players reach the highest possible level and we know that Reece will push on further than Step 2 during the course of his career. The club has always taken great pride in seeing our own prosper and test themselves at the highest level possible.

Technical Director, Dave Norman said:

“During the 3 years Reece has been at Wingate & Finchley, he has been key to the success of the club. Reece has been very loyal and has turned down a number of opportunities to move on. He was influential in the club’s relegation battle on return from injury in January. We feel that this move to a Conference South team will play a significant role in his quest to become a professional footballer. As a club, we feel proud to have been able to produce another player for the higher levels of English football, where we know Reece will enjoy tremendous success. We all wish Reece the very best for the future and look forward to welcoming him back to Summers Lane as a supporter of the club.”

The club wish to echo Dave’s thoughts, hoping that. Reece can use this opportunity to push on and reach the level of football everybody knows he is capable of. Good luck, Reece!
