U18 WHITE CUP FINAL - IN HONOUR OF DAN HUDSON

Having secured the right to play in their first ever cup final, the U18 whites were given the opportunity to grace the hallowed Summers Lane turf for their divisional final against Hendon United. The cup named in honour of the late Dan Hudson, son of Tracy and Steve Hudson (lifelong officials of the Watford Friendly league ) who died so young aged 35 last year was a special occasion. As a fitting tribute, the crowd rose as one and clapped in unison in the 35th minute to celebrate Dan’s life.

Over 200 people packed onto the terraces to watch this feast of football. A stirring speech by the director of football, Ahmet, before the game meant that the home side took the field with a great deal of enthusiasm and passion. Despite playing some great football and having several near misses, it was not meant to be with the home team losing 3-0 in the end. However it was a very enjoyable occasion and we now move on to our 2nd cup final in 10 days.

Let the glory days continue .
