Community Day

Wingate & Finchley FC will be hosting their annual community day on Saturday April 13th, to coincide with their home game against Kingstonian. In addition to a pre-match 5-a-side tournament, supporters are being offered a ‘pay what you like’ incentive on the gate, following the success of a similar scheme earlier this season on Non-League Day. Community Manager Mike Bayly advised: “We will be holding an adult 5-a-side tournament on our pitches prior to the Kingstonian match, with the entry fee covering admission to the first team game. Last season we had fifteen teams enter and will be hoping for a similar turnout this time around as we have only two spaces left to be filled. We implemented a ‘pay what you like scheme’ earlier this season against Concord Rangers and recorded a bumper crowd which was almost treble the size from the corresponding fixture the season before. The community day offers a fitting opportunity to try it again; it’s a nice way to end the season and a great opportunity for people to visit our club for a price they see fit.” Money raised from the tournament will go towards funding the club’s various community projects, including their on-going partnership with Barnet Mencap. For more information on the 5-a-side tournament, or for general enquiries about the day, please email Mike Bayly on mike@wingatefinchley.com
