Gershfield Signs

Wingate & Finchley have re-signed former player James Gershfield from Ryman Division One's Potters Bar Town. As a young winger with the Blues he made 28 starts for the senior side and had many substitute appearances, scoring a total of 13 goals between 2007-10. In his two years since with Potters Bar Town, he has pushed further up front and has netted 12 league goals this season already. The 23-year old said "I am delighted to be back at Wingate & Finchley. Having played here before as a youngster I know what a great club it is and it's great to finally be home, and now I'm ready to prove myself in the Ryman Premier. I have had a great season and a half at Potters Bar but I am relishing the opportunity of stepping up a division and playing for Gary (Meakin) and a club that is so close to my heart."
